Let’s get one thing straight—boudoir photography and empowerment shoots aren’t about seeking your validation. They’re not about attention-seeking. They’re definitely not about catering to some warped, hyper-sexualised gaze. The clients who step in front of my lens aren’t looking for your approval, and they’re sure as hell not doing it for you to sexualise them.
These shoots are about self-love. They’re about reclaiming the space we’ve been conditioned to shrink away from thanks to decades of harmful media narratives that have fed us toxic messages about beauty and worth. For years, we’ve been bombarded with ideals that are unattainable, with the underlying message that if we don’t meet them, we don’t deserve to be celebrated. Well, screw that.
My style of modern boudoir photography is a big middle finger to that narrative. It’s about us—real people—embracing our bodies exactly as they are. It’s about taking back the narrative that has long been out of our control. We are not here to conform to your expectations or soothe your insecurities. We’re here to celebrate ourselves.
If your first instinct when you see these images is to judge, belittle, or reduce them to something purely sexual, the problem isn’t with us—it’s with you. Maybe it’s time you took a look in the mirror and realised that you’ve been conditioned too. Educate yourself. We all have the right to celebrate ourselves without being sexualised, criticised, or objectified.
Here’s the thing: if you can’t get on board with that—if you’re going to scroll through my work and roll your eyes, criticise, or even think for a second that these images are about you—then this space isn’t for you. Leave.
This space is for those who see beauty in confidence, who respect the courage it takes to stand tall in a world constantly trying to tear you down. It’s for those who understand that everyone deserves to be seen, celebrated, and adored for who they are, not for what someone else decides they should be.
To the clients who step in front of my lens: you are powerful, you are beautiful, and you are more than enough. I adore you all.
To those who don’t get that: keep scrolling, because we don’t need your negativity here!
